I finished up the must-read history nerd book of the year, Nixonland, by Rick Perlstein. I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’ve got the time to plow through the 750 or so pages of it, it’s certainly worth the investment. I had been looking around for a long time for a sort of omnibus history of America in the 1960s, and while this didn’t exactly fit the bill, it’s an incredibly engrossing, eye-opening work.
It also has so far spawned three different ideas for ad scripts for me. So perhaps I can write it off as a work expense?
